January 26, 10:25 a.m.: Our speaker for tonight is stuck in New York City due to the weather. We have arranged for her to join us by Skype. So we will all still meet at the Friday Center at 7:30pm to hear the talk. Thank you.

ELISSA BEMPORAD, professor at Queens College, The City University of New York, will investigate the complicated process of socialization and acculturation into the Soviet regime as experienced by Jewish women, from the Bolshevik Revlution until the eve of World War II.
