Student Internships, 2019-2020

The Carolina Center for Jewish Studies is accepting applications for paid, undergraduate and graduate student interns for the 2019-2020 academic year. The application deadline is now extended to September 12th.

Internship Details

Lori and Eric Sklut, of Charlotte, NC, have generously underwritten the internship program, which was initiated in the 2016-2017 academic year. In past years, the interns created outreach materials for undergraduates, expanded the Center’s social media efforts, worked on events related to the Center’s 15th anniversary showcase and produced a new video for the Center.

Undergraduate Intern: The Center is seeking a Carolina undergraduate student to work during the upcoming academic year to help promote the Center’s activities and academic programs to undergraduates. We need an outgoing student who can attend campus events and visit classrooms to give brief presentations and distribute printed materials. In addition, work on the Center’s social media, e-newsletter and videos is desired, depending on the intern’s skills and interests. Our undergraduate intern must be independent, reliable and creative and interested in promoting Jewish studies events, courses and the major/minors. The schedule is very flexible to accommodate class schedule, but the student must be available to attend some events and visit Jewish studies classrooms during the school year. The internship offers $10.00 per hour. The number of work hours will vary throughout the year but will average 2-4 hours per week, September 2019 through April 2020.

Graduate Student Intern: The Center is seeking a Carolina graduate student to work during the upcoming academic year to promote the Center’s activities and academic programs to graduate students, expand programming for the Graduate Student Network, and help with program management of the Center’s grants program. Our graduate student intern must be independent, reliable and creative and interested in promoting Jewish studies programs and grants. The schedule is very flexible to accommodate class schedule, but the student must be available to attend some events during the school year. The internship offers $15.00 per hour. The number of work hours will vary throughout the year but will average 2-4 hours per week, September 2019 through April 2020.
