Interpretation and Innovation: Jewish Studies from the Rabbinic Era to Today

November 3 @ 11:00 am12:15 pm

Join Carolina Public Humanities and our partners at Wake Tech for a talk by Dr. Andrea Cooper, Associate Professor and Leonard and Tobee Kaplan Scholar in Modern Jewish Thought and Culture at UNC Chapel Hill. This lecture will be delivered as part of the Sidney and Mary Schochet Family Series on Jewish Life & Culture, in collaboration with the Carolina Center for Jewish Studies.

Jewish studies is a rich field that offers multiple opportunities for cross-cultural and comparative inquiry. It encompasses a wide variety of subjects, objects of study, and diverse approaches. In this talk, Dr. Cooper will discuss how biblical and rabbinic culture influenced later generations, and how Judaism and Jewish studies continues to be reshaped and re-thought today.

Pre-registration is not required. Click this link to watch the lecture:  https://humanities.unc.edu/event/interpretation-and-innovation-jewish-studies-from-the-rabbinic-era-to-today/
