Join us on the June 2022 excavations at Huqoq in Israel

Since 2011, excavations directed by Professor Jodi Magness (Religious Studies) at the ancient village of Huqoq in Israel’s Galilee have been bringing to light a monumental, Late Roman (fifth century) synagogue paved with stunning mosaics depicting an array of biblical stories.

Undergraduates are invited to participate on the June 2022 excavation through UNC Study Abroad (offered as CLAR 650; no prerequisites).  Students earn 6 credits for one month, which fulfill the Experiential Education requirement.

Grants for Carolina students are available through the Center; details: https://jewishstudies.unc.edu/grants/undergraduate-grants/
