The award, offered by the Institute for the Arts and Humanities, recognizes one faculty member from each department in the arts, humanities, and qualitative social sciences. Germanic Slavic Languages and Literatures: Eliza Rose (FFP ’22)
Eliza Rose is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Germanic and Slavic Languages and Literatures and the Laszlo Birinyi Sr. Fellow in Central European Studies. She also serves as Director of Slavic Program. Her research focuses on the visual cultures and literature of Poland and East Central Europe.

 

History: Karen Auerbach (FFP ’22)
Karen Auerbach is an Associate Professor in the Department of History. Her research focuses on the social history of Polish Jews in the nineteenth and twentieth century and her teaching focuses on modern Jewish history, the Holocaust, and East European history.

 

Women’s and Gender Studies: Jillian Hinderliter
Jillian M. Hinderliter is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Women’s and Gender Studies and the Moses M. and Hannah L. Malkin Fellow in Jewish History and Culture. Her research and teaching interests include twentieth century American women’s and gender history, Jewish Studies, the history of medicine and health care in the United States, public history, and oral history.
