Tara is originally from Emmitsburg, MD, and she is pursuing an MSLS with a concentration in Archives and Records Management. Undergraduate Interns

Eliana
Addie
Isaac
Izzy

Eliana is originally from Chicago, Illinois, and is double majoring in History and Jewish Studies. In addition to being on the Undergraduate Student Senate and Vice President for Sigma Rho Lambda, UNC’s only Jewish interest sorority, Eliana enjoys spending time with friends and watching UNC sports.

Addie is a sophomore from Asheville, NC studying Global Studies and Jewish Studies. She is involved as the VP of Recruitment for SRL, UNC Jewish interest sorority and serves as the chair of Israel programming on the UNC Hillel board. She is super excited to be working with the Carolina Center for Jewish Studies!

Isaac is an undergraduate student double majoring in Religious Studies and Classics (Greek concentration). A philhellene with a keen interest in the intersection of Jewish and Hellenic thought during the late Second Temple period, he is curious about the extent to which this syncretism has influenced Western belief. He is currently interning at the Carolina Center for Jewish Studies, as the Lori and Eric Skult Undergraduate Intern in Jewish Studies, where he deepens his understanding of modern Jewish history and Biblical reception while working as a research assistant under Professor David Lambert.

Isabella (Izzy) is sophomore from Raleigh, NC double majoring in political science and journalism. She previously worked as a political fellow for the Josh Stein campaign for governor of NC, as a social media intern for Olami, a non-profit rooted in fighting antisemitism, and a camp counselor at the Jewish Community Center in Raleigh. Her dream job is to one day host “Face the Nation.”

Lori and Eric Sklut, of Charlotte, NC, have generously underwritten the undergraduate internship program, which was initiated in the 2016-2017 academic year. This year’s interns are working on campus outreach, social media and marketing, event staffing and collaborating with faculty on research projects. In past years, the interns created outreach materials for undergraduates, expanded the Center’s social media efforts, produced new videos and worked on events related to the Center’s 15th anniversary showcase and 20th anniversary jazz celebration.
