Mazel tov and congratulations to all students who graduated with a minor, major, graduate certificate or a dissertation in Jewish studies! The Carolina Center for Jewish Studies hopes that you could celebrate your graduation despite the difficult times, and we look forward to on-campus ceremonies when it is safe to do so.

Professor Yaakov Ariel adds that “we will miss you here at UNC, but at the same time we wish you every possible success in your new life and career” and Professor Jodi Magness adds that we are  “proud of you and wish you all the best as you move forward.”

Special congratulations to two students that earned their Ph.D.’s and a graduate certificate in Jewish Studies: Daniela Weiner, department of history, and Brad Erickson, department of religious studies.

Best wishes for your future and “zayt gezunt” (stay healthy) as one wishes in Yiddish.

Ruth von Bernuth,
Director, Carolina Center for Jewish Studies
Seymour & Carol Levin Distinguished Term Professor
Professor, Department of Germanic and Slavic Languages and Literatures
