Archaeology and Jewish settlements in seventh century Palestine

Speaker: Gideon Avni, head of the Archaeological Division in the Israel Antiquities Authority and a lecturer at the Institute of Archaeology at the Hebrew University, Jerusalem.

This seminar will concentrate on the seventh century, focusing on the archaeological evidence of Jewish settlements before and after the Arab conquest – mainly Jerusalem (Persian conquest and the renewal of Jewish presence in the city after the Arab conquest), but also relating to other sites.
